Abstract	This manual designed for caregivers describes the practices and activity plans of the infant-toddler group at the University of Iowa Early Childhood Education Center. Emphasis is placed on working with children between 12 and 36 months of age. The manual is divided into five main sections. Section 1 explains the composition of the infant-toddler group. Section 2 describes a typical day at the center. Section 3 discusses the characteristics that are valued in caregivers of young children. Section 4 lists the equipment available in the center. Section 5 presents activity plans which staff members have used successfully to encourage intellectual, language, large and small muscle development. (SB)
